Our latest shoot

Find out what we have been up to recently, here’s the latest shoot we did with our colleagues from My Wedding Professionals, as featured in Your Kent Wedding Magazine

My Wedding Professionals is made up of individual companies that are passionate and accomplished in their various fields that love to recommend each other. Though we regularly work together on real weddings, this shoot was the perfect opportunity for a dramatic collaboration of our skills.

The fabulous Hotel du Vin has so much to offer in terms of atmosphere, deep rich coloured rooms, a beautiful staircase, striking mirrors and quirky timeless decor. The latin vibe of the Hotel meant warm striking tones were called for, along with atmospheric lighting, fluid lines and a sense of understated drama.

We embraced the slightly sultry feel of the venue and Vicky from Victoria’s Bridal Boutique chose a gorgeous gown covered in decadent silver beading in a sleek vintage silhouette by Stella York. The gown was perfect, but couldn’t of been an easy choice as Vicky’s boutique carry’s over 200 different bridal gowns.

Our stunning model Emily’s exotic look was enhanced by our make-up artist Elizabeth Joseph Love, who created dramatic eye makeup by blending gradient shades of warm browns combined with cooler purple tones. A smokey, winged liner and glamorous lashes were added for effect and completed with a complimentary, rich berry lip.

Angela our hair guru from RKW Hair then added her contribution to this sexy but sophisticated look with a fantastic style that had lots of volume and texture.

Our florist Sarah from Wild Idea’s teamed this with a long exotic hand tied bouquet that included tumbling amaranthus, a mix of heady scented roses and unusual purple callicarpus berries. These blooms were chosen for their rich colours and to give layers of texture in the bouquet and also so they would move and cascade in different ways depending upon how the design was held.

In fact, that really was the feel of this shoot….casual elegance. Just beautiful, timeless elements that compliment each other perfectly.

Next came setting the scene….we all thoroughly enjoyed creating a stunning cake table with quirky furniture, fun signage, cascading flowers and a fabulous lit heart by Light It Up UK

A show stopper of a cake completed the look with gilding and an illusion window through one of the tiers made by the incredible Shelley’s Cakes

Shelleys Cakes didn’t stop there they created a new twist to a luggage cake with “ Hector and Maria “ seated on their Cuban cigar box surrounded by travel items and finally delicious coffee bean cup cakes. Fortunately for the rest of us there is always plenty of cake for us to sample .. well it would be rude not to!

Finally we dressed the main function room with an array of high and low floral design in burnt orange, aubergine plum and burgundy tones with acrylic table numbers in exotic teal. The room was completed with a floral mantlepiece, candle light and a matching stylish Seating Plan and Order of the Day with a gorgeous watercolour style design and gold foiling.

Then we stepped back let Jeff Oliver Photography do what they do best … tell the story with their amazing use of light to capture the colours, feel and atmosphere at this beautiful venue.
